Gammon Goes Green at Ocampo
Gammon Gold Inc. and their wholly owned Mexican subsidiary Gammon Lake de Mexico S.A de S.V. has gone green – two different shades of green in fact! 
Knelson recently shipped a fully automated KC-XD30 batch-type gravity concentrator along with a Knelson-Sizetec SDS vibrating screen and a Consep CS2000 Acacia Reactor to the Ocampo Mine which is located approximately 235klms. Southwest of Chihuahua, Mexico.
The equipment will be installed to augment the current process plant by recovering free milling gold and silver values into a high grade gravity concentrate that will be further upgraded in the Acacia unit.
“Our lab testwork indicated that there is a significant amount of gravity recoverable gold and unusually large amounts of
gravity recoverable silver in the ore. Modeling using KC MOD*Pro indicates that recovery by gravity would not only remove a good portion of the gold and silver in the grinding circuit, but would also increase downstream leaching kinetics, leading to an overall recovery improvement. As Gammon has initiated a major plant upgrade resulting in increased throughput but also reduced leach residence time, the gravity circuit plays a large role in minimizing the requirement for additional downstream leaching capacity” stated Michael Fullam; KGS Manager of Corporate Accounts.
The order was received on December 24th, 2008 and the entire order was fast-tracked through Knelson’s production facility in 12 weeks including the Xmas break.
