Vancouver based Gold-Ore Resources Ltd said it ended fiscal 2008 with the largest monthly and quarterly gold production at Bjorkdal to date since acquiring the Swedish gold mine at the start of the year.

Gold production reached 3,577 ounces in November, up 23 percent from October, for total production in the fourth quarter of 9,185 ounces, 62 percent higher than in the third quarter, and 27,955 ounces for the 2008 fiscal year, in turn representing a 52 percent rise.

Gold production at Bjorkdal is achieved by processing material from three sources: underground, open pit and surface stockpiles.

Since acquiring the mine, Gold-Ore has been focusing on the underground development at the mine. The fourth quarter production is significant as approximately 60 percent of the gold production came from the underground unit of the mine, Gold-Ore said.

The company currently utilizes one small Knelson Concentrator installed in the concentrate upgrading section of the plant but it plans to install a second production size Knelson unit in the primary grinding circuit in 2009 to further improve gold recovery.
