Langley, Canada; The U.S. Department of Transportation reports that the average life span of a vehicle is just over 13 years, with a final mileage of 145,000 miles (230,000klms). On average these vehicles operate for just over 2 hours per day thereby providing approximately 10,000 hours of service during their operating lifetime. These statistics pale in comparison to the 15 years and over 100,000 hours of operation that the two KC-CD30 units have each provided to Vancouver Island’s Myra Falls Mine since being installed in 1992.
“The installation of the gravity circuit at Myra Falls in 1992 was quite a historic event for us ” recounts Doug Corsan Knelson’s VP of Sales.
“At that time the company was in it’s infancy and the decision by Myra Falls to install gravity became a defining moment in our company history” Corsan went on to say.
The Myra Falls story was headlined at the launch of Knelson’s new K2 assembly facility which drew over 200 guests when it took place October 3rd. in Langley. The event was the topic of a feature story in The Langley Times newspaper.
