Continuous Technology Shines at Cantung

Cantung Mine; NWT Canada – “Continued strong commodity prices are fueling the rapid growth in the application of our Continuous Variable Discharge (CVD) technology into non traditional market sectors” according to Doug Corsan; VP of Sales at Knelson.

“In particular, we have seen a strong demand for the technology coming from the tungsten market which is an area that prior to the last 18 months we knew very little about” added Corsan.

Those comments are in reference to the latest successful commercial application of the CVD at the historic Cantung Mine in Canada’s North West Territories. Cantung is the largest tungsten producer outside of China and is the most recent to employ Knelson CVD technology in their recovery process. Complete details of the installation are outlined in the Knelson Gravity Solutions – Cantung Project Fact Sheet.

When reached for comment Harold Schwenk; Chief Financial Officer of North American Tungsten Corporation Ltd. stated “In our economic analysis we determined that over a 4 month period we realized an incremental

increase in over-all recovery of 1.5% generating on an annual basis in excess of $800,000; resulting in a payback of about 4 months on a capital cost of (the Knelson unit) of $262,000.”

The Cantung Mine joins Beralt Tin and Wolfram's Minas da Panasquiera in Portugal as two of only three producing mines outside China who are reaping the benefits of Knelson's CVD technology.
