Tanzania, Africa; Minieres du Nord Mining (TSX:MDN) has reported that the Tulawaka Gold Mine in Tanzania has been successfully commissioned and has now reached commercial production. First feed to the SAG mill was on February 25^th and 24hr./day operation started on March 5^th, 2005. During the month of March overall plant availability was 82% and 31,592 tonnes were processed with an average recovery of 97.2% for a total of 6,505ozs. of actual gold production all above budget for the period.

Incredibly, 73% of the gold produced has been recovered by the gravity circuit consisting of two (2) fully automated Knelson KC-CD30 concentrators. The Tulawaka project is a joint venture between MDN Northern Mining (30%) and Pangea Goldfields (70%) a wholly-owned subsidiary of Barrick Gold Corporation. The successful start-up of Tulawaka brings the total number of Knelson Concentrators in operation at Barrick worldwide operations to fifteen including five (5) KC-XD48s, six (6) KC-CD30s, two (2) KC-XD30s, one (1) KC-XD20 and one (1) KC-CD12.
