KC-MOD*Pro

KRTC developed a computer-generated model called KC-MOD*Pro for estimating the impact of installing a Knelson Concentrator in a grinding circuit.

The KC-MOD*Pro model has the ability to interpret results in a standard milling circuit based on a number of parameters.

Some of the key variables used in KC-MOD*Pro include the GRG content of the ore, gold survival rate in the mill, the probability of gold reporting to cyclone underflow and the percentage of feed split to the gravity circuit. This model is very useful in making predictions pertaining to the benefit of installing a Knelson in a grinding circuit.

KC-MOD*Pro has been tested with numerous case study applications and has proven to be extremely accurate. The model continues to be developed and fine tuned as more real application examples present themselves.

To perform a KC-MOD*Pro gravity recoverable gold test, the mill feed rate, gold survival rate, cyclone split to underflow, and GRG value is required. KRTC staff can help you ascertain some of these values.

Request a KC-MOD*Pro test.

David Collins, Manager Process Development - Newmont Mining Corporation, USA

"At Meridian Gold's El Penon mine in Chile, Knelson concentrator performance is severely hampered by steel fibers! The fibers, 1.25" long by about 1/32", are reinforcement for the shotcrete used underground and by the time they get into mill feed represent 180 gpt compared to a gold head of about 10 gpt!! Not surprising that the Knelson makes a good iron concentrate contaminated with gold!!" ...more > >
