Instrument quality compressed air is required for the Knelson Independent Control System (ICS) and is recommended for the ICS junior system.

The Instrument Air Package is designed to provide a reliable supply of clean, dry, oil free compressed air to the Knelson Concentrators pneumatic control system components.

Failure to provide a suitable supply of compressed air can result in erratic operation of the Knelson Concentrator and can cause unscheduled maintenance interruptions and premature failure of pneumatic components.

These freestanding self-contained compressors with built-in coalescing air filter and ceramic desiccant dryer can be easily located in close proximity to the Knelson Concentrator.

An optional instrument air upgrade kit can be utilized if a source of plant quality air is available. The upgrade kit can be affixed directly to the pneumatic connection of the ICS control system. This kit includes a high efficiency coalescing air filter coupled with a ceramic desiccant dryer and will provide an instrument quality air source for the Knelson ICS

"Pasminco's Rosebery Mine installed one of the earliest manual discharge KC-25's in the secondary grinding circuit to recover free-milling gold. A second automatic discharge was installed in the primary grinding stage in the early 1990s. The performance of this unit was so good that it rendered the first installed unit redundant. In 1998, we added a second unit to the primary grinding stage to increase gold recovery further. We also purchased a laboratory size 6" Knelson, which we used extensively in our Ore Characterisation programmes. Gold recovery to dore improved from a mere 10% to almost 30% in 1999-2000." - Christopher Mwaba, Senior Projects Metallurgist - Pasminco Ltd., Australia ...more > >
