The Knelson Feed By-Pass System is an optional feature that can be supplied as part of any Knelson Screen Hopper. The Feed By-Pass System eliminates the need to design complex and costly feed control systems for the Knelson Concentrator.

During operation, feed slurry to the Knelson Concentrator is continuously delivered to the screen hopper. When signaled by the Knelson Independent Control System (ICS) or by an external mill control system, the electro-pneumatic knife gate valve is actuated and the feed slurry by-passes the Knelson Concentrator.

While feed is diverted, the flush cycle is initiated and concentrates from the Knelson Concentrator are discharged into a concentrate storage tank.

Upon completion of the flush cycle, the electro-pneumatic knife gate valve is opened and feed is once again delivered to the Knelson Concentrator.
