Eureka, Another World First!

Back to WHAT'S NEW

ZIMBABWE - Australian owned Delta Gold Zimbabwe, has recently ordered two KC-XD30 Knelson Concentrators for their Eureka heap leach project, expected to become the Zimbabwe’s second-largest producer. This unconventional treatment was proposed by Peacocke, Simpson & Associates of Harare after tests indicated that Eureka ore requires fine crushing for acceptable heap leach kinetics.

Further work suggested that 20% of the gold would be recovered by gravity, improve leach kinetics and increase total recovery by 3%-5%. The concentrators will treat 120 tph of crushing circuit fines and recover some 15,000 oz per annum. This has been made possible by the ability of the Knelson Concentrator to accept coarse feed.

"We use a Knelson Concentrator for heavy mineral separation from bulk basal till samples. The documentation of the individual gold grains recovered over 5 microns assists in locating the source of the recovered grains or anomalous heavy mineral - sample site. Other methods tried do not recover the fine gold particles found in some samples. This unit has become the method of choice in the La Ronge belt."...more > >
