3rd International Agents Conference

Back to WHAT'S NEW

The 3rd International Agents Conference was a tremendous success ! Thank you to all the agents and representatives who participated in this years conference.

Background

LANGLEY, Canada - The sales and marketing staff at Knelson Concentrators is busy making final preparations for their 3rd International Agents Conference set to take place during the week of September 16th - 23rd jointly at their corporate headquarters in Langley and at the renowned ski resort of Whistler, British Columbia. The inaugural event of this kind took place in August of 1995 to mark the official opening of Knelson's newly constructed corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility. Since then, Knelson hosted the '97 Summit, during which Knelson representatives from around the globe convened in Langley to discuss strategies to help deal with the eroding gold price and impending decline in gold mining activity.

"The '97 Summit was a timely event for us as it really brought the message home that a global decline was on the horizon and we had to lay the groundwork to see us through the tough times ahead" said Doug Corsan, VP Sales for Knelson.

"We made a conscious decision to focus our attention on the projects with strong economic fundamentals like Geita and Bulyanhulu in Tanzania, Morila in Mali and El Penon in Chile. By ensuring that our equipment would be an integral part of these Greenfield projects we were able to actually to hold our own in 1998 and followed it up with strong sales growth in 1999. So far, 2000 is proving to be our best year ever and we are extremely bullish by the way the future is shaping-up". Corsan added.

"We recognize the vital role that our worldwide rep network has played in our success and we want acknowledge this by hosting this conference as a small gesture of our appreciation for their efforts especially through what could have been very tough times".

Among the topics that will be discussed at this year's event will be the introduction of four new products and services including the commercial launch of Knelson's breakthrough 'continuous discharge' (CVD) technology which has the mineral processing world buzzing with anticipation. With multiple units already in production to satisfy a number of pre-launch orders already received, Knelson is gearing up for what promises to be an extremely busy fourth quarter of 2000 and beyond.

"We've tried to be as proactive as possible to deal with the launch of this technology and have just completed a plant expansion which has effectively doubled our plant and office space" according to Corsan. "There's no doubt that these are exciting times at Knelson and with the impending arrival of our agents representing over 70 countries world-wide, we're looking forward to an exciting and productive conference which will reinforce our strong global industry presence into the foreseeable future" said Corsan.
