| RED LAKE MINE, Ontario - GoldCorp continues to exceed both grade and recovery expectations at it's Red Lake Mine in Northern Ontario. In its second quarter of commercial production the mine produced 131,927 ounces at a cash cost of US$60 per ounce sold. In its first six months of commercial production the Red Lake Mine produced 278,439 ounces at a cash cost of US$57 per ounce sold. For the project to date, the average grade of ore processed has been 73.0 g/t compared to a grade of 64.5 g/t predicted by the ore reserves, a 13% improvement in grade.
The gravity circuit at Red Lake plays a significant role in the gold recovery process accounting for between 55 - 60% of the total gold produced. The original circuit consisted of a single fully automated KC-CD20 treating ~25tph of cyclone underflow. With higher than expected feed grades and an opportunity to further increase gravity recovery, a decision was made to expand the circuit to accommodate a second fully automated KC-XD20.
The unit is expected to arrive on-site in by the end of July and be ready for commissioning by mid-August.

Share Your Knelson Experience
David Collins, Manager Process Development - Newmont Mining Corporation, USA
"At Meridian Gold's El Penon mine in Chile, Knelson concentrator performance is severely hampered by steel fibers! The fibers, 1.25" long by about 1/32", are reinforcement for the shotcrete used underground and by the time they get into mill feed represent 180 gpt compared to a gold head of about 10 gpt!! Not surprising that the Knelson makes a good iron concentrate contaminated with gold!!"
