JOHANNESBURG, Republic of South Africa (RSA) - Knelson Concentrators Africa is pleased to announce Gold Fields Ltd. has opted for a ConSep ACACIA Reactor as the concentrate treatment system as part of the new gravity circuit at their flagship Freestate operation, Beatrix Mine.
The ConSep ACACIA system will process concentrates from four fully automated Knelson XD30 concentrators that comprise the primary recovery units of the new gravity circuit.

"We're extremely confident that this combination will set a new standard for quality, reliability and efficiency and will become a model for gravity circuits in the South African gold industry," he went on to say.
The fully automated ConSep ACACIA Reactor Model CS2000 will be manufactured by ConSep Pty. in Australia and delivered to Beatrix Mine during the third quarter of 2003. The complete circuit is scheduled for commission during the first quarter of 2004.
The Beatrix ACACIA order brings the total number of ConSep ACACIA systems either installed or on order to 18 in total, 14 of which have been sold since Knelson and ConSep Pty. entered into a global joint venture marketing agreement less than 18 months ago.
All previously installed ACACIA Reactor systems are fully operational and have achieved +97% recovery within days of commissioning. Because the system was extensively field tested during the development phase, all units are operating as originally supplied and have met or exceeded their original design requirements.
The ConSep ACACIA Reactor is a revolutionary, high-efficiency leaching system that was developed to handle the high-grade concentrates produced by the Knelson Concentrator. The system is designed to maximize gold recovery from gravity concentrates and provides numerous process advantages over a conventional gold room.
