Knelson Global Gravity Summit Attracts Big Crowd

Langley, BC Canada; “Highly informative, impressive, extremely worthwhile.” Those were just a few of the adjectives used by the delegates who were in attendance at Knelson Global Gravity Summit 2006.
The three day event brought together over 120 industry professionals – plant personnel, corporate managers, researchers and industry professionals all keen to hear about the latest trends in gravity concentration.
The event commenced with a Gravity Seminar hosted by Knelson Gravity Solutions and attended by an enthusiastic crowd of onlookers. Amongst the attendees were delegates from AngloGoldAsahanti, Barrick, BHP-Billiton, CVRD, Freeport, Goldcorp, Kinross Gold, MHC (Peru), Newmont, Northgate, NVI Mining, Pam American Silver, Polyus Gold, TeckCominco, Xstrata Copper, Yamana Gold and others.
Following the Gravity Seminar, delegates were transported to Knelson’s corporate headquarters in Langley where they were given a plant and laboratory tour followed by a reception marking the official launch of the KC-XD40 model, the latest addition Knelson’s line of proprietary gravity concentrators.
From there it was a two-day get-away to Whistler B.C. for a little networking combined with some recreation and relaxation. “We couldn’t have scripted the event any better,” stated Doug Corsan; Knelson’s VP of Sales. “We enjoyed fantastic weather, we had great group of people and there was plenty of good interaction both on a technical and social level.” Corsan added.

Grand Prize Winner of 'Where in the World is Knelson - Continuous Pursuit'

Langley; Canada: Knelson Gravity Solutions is pleased to announce the grand prize winner of the “Where in the World is Knelson – Continuous Pursuit” contest. Mr. Edgar Canta Cruz of Lima, Peru is the winner of a trip to Vancouver and Whistler B.C. to attend the Knelson Global Gravity Summit 2006 from September 26th – 30th, 2006.
“We were overwhelmed with the number of participants and I would like to thank everyone who took part” stated Doug Corsan; Knelson VP Sales & Marketing.
“In our first Where in the World is Knelson – The Start of Something Big” internet contest we had over 500 entries and with “Where in the World is Knelson II – Continuous Pursuit, we topped 700 entries” Corsan added.
Mr. Canta is Corporate Director of Metallurgical Process for Pan American Silver (Peru) S.A. the Peruvian operations of Vancouver-based Pan American Silver Corporation one of the world’s largest primary silver producers. Pan American Silver has 6 producing mines in 3 countries, and is on track to produce approximately 14 million ounces in 2006. With two new mines currently under construction, Pan American Silver expects to become the largest primary silver producer in the world with annual silver production growing to 25 million ounces per year by 2009.

Commissioning a brand new gold plant in a remote part of Mali in the sweltering heat of mid-summer is nothing short of a pressure cooker. KCGM Increases Gold Recovery

Kalgoorlie, Western Australia; In July 2004, Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM) (a 50/50 joint venture between Barrick and Newmont operated by Barrick) commissioned a gravity circuit consisting of five (5) Knelson KC-XD48 Concentrators and a ConSep ACACIA CS6000 concentrate leach reactor. After more than one full year of operation the circuit has demonstrated improvements at KCGM in excess of initial expectation.
